In Nazi occupied Austria, two young people commit a capital offence; they fall in love.
In 1939 a young Polish man meets a young Austrian woman. They are both unmarried, both Roman Catholics. But in the eyes of the world they are an unsuitable match.
Upper Austrian society is typical of its time. A wealthy girl from a privileged background does not mix with a penniless laborer torn from his homeland. The unthinkable becomes the inevitable as these two charming, apolitical 19-year olds fall in love. It also becomes very dangerous as such relationships are expressly forbidden by newly instated Nazi laws.
In a war torn world, two bright, brave souls find each other and face the dreadful consequences.
